Insanity and InMe

There she goes again... creeping
out of my mind, away
To a listless void of shelter
Where she'll stay, submerged
in shallow painkillers,
killing nothing but time
till the bomb attacks tide over
at least for the day.

Wounds left in the open... bleeding
with clots that never run dry
Heartbeats peddle wildly on
hear each sigh -
breaking through its crystal curse,
till by chance, again, I slip inside.

She's back, back in steady eyes -
And reaching over,
Like many a time
blankets a black velvet over mine.
