Dance for Life

Dance. I start
now and here
Breathe in.... face crowd
Breathe out.. face fear.
In step to begin
just the way rehearsed
rhythm won't change
how heartbeat, does.
Slowing down
when pressure pounds
on my head.
Bursting bloodrush
am i dead?
In a second's lapse on others
left behind is the Self.
Fall down
but don't expect
anyone else.
As follows the fall,
to rise you shall -
Tucking in those scars
beneath worn sleeves
singing a song
all their own
from the controlling keys.
No skip, pause, replay -
Each second in motion
presses for attention
And in midst of it all
a moment gets carried away.
Crescendo gathers -
near the end now;
Feet giving in...
as the soul dips down
for a final bow.
Both claps and jeers
sound one and same
as the notes of life melt....

Out of tune
Out of time
........away.
